Ripple Generator

True sinusoidal motion of the actuators produces the clearest wave patterns in a Ripple Tank. To create sinusoidal motion, PASCO's Ripple Generator uses a DC motor and cams for actuator motion and a Ripple Generator mounting that is mechanically isolated from the tank.
Three adjustment screws accurately position both actuators on the surface of the water for the sharpest wave patterns. Because the frequency can be electronically adjusted from 2 to 20 Hz, phase from 0 to 360 degrees and amplitude from 0.5 to 2 mm p-p, almost any Ripple Tank experiment can be performed. A phase lock knob prevents the phase from drifting.
The WA-9777 Ripple Generator includes 3 large and 3 small actuators and the plane wave actuator (multiple point sources).
